MEDICARE


Medicare can cover your services under the provisions of a Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDM), previously referred to as an Enhanced Primary Care or EPC plan. 


CAN MEDICARE COVER YOUR SESSION?​

YES! Your sessions can be partially funded by Medicare but you need to meet special requirements:

  • You must have a chronic medical condition (meaning something that you have suffered with for over 6 months)

  • You need to have the appropriate referral from your GP, who needs to send you to a specific practice (please provide Mymusclefix details if you wish to be treated by us).

WHAT IS A CHRONIC DISEASE MANAGEMENT PLAN (CDM)?

The Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDM), previously recognized as the Enhanced Primary Care Plan (EPC) or Team Care Arrangement (TCA), is a Medicare-backed program. It allocates funding for a maximum of 5 sessions per year, devised to assist patients contending with chronic conditions.

HOW MANY VISITS WILL IT COVER?​​

CDM (Or EPC) allows for a total of up to 5 rebated consults to any referred allied health practitioner, per year.

  • Yes you can get a Medicare Rebate using the CDM (EPC) program.

  • You need a specific doctor’s referral and the right type of physical condition

  • You will pay the full consultation fee upfront

  • And then you can get a rebate for up to 5 visits per year

  • There will always be a small gap fee

HOW TO BOOK AN APPOINTMENT?

  1. During the call, inform us that you possess a CDM / EPC referral from your GP.

  2. For your initial appointment, please ensure to have the following:

    • Your GP’s referral (This can be emailed to us).

    • Your valid Medicare Card.

    • Any relevant reports related to your area of injury.

HOW WE CAN HELP NDIS PARTICIPANTS

Here at Mymusclefix, we are experienced in supporting people with a disability manage pain, move better, build strength and get around more independently.

We are categorised as a therapeutic support in the areas of Improved Health and Wellbeing as well as Improved Daily Living Skills.

HOW TO USE YOUR NDIS FUNDS FOR MYMUSCLEFIX

You’ll need to be either plan managed or self manage your NDIS plan to use Mymusclefix as your provider.

​

How your NDIS plan is managed is something you decide at your first NDIS plan meeting or a plan review. There are three options: plan management, self-management or agency management. You can also ask to change the way your plan is managed at any time via a plan review.

​

Choosing the self-management option gives you the freedom to choose your own providers and will enable you to work with us at Mymusclefix as part of your plan.

WHAT KIND OF SERVICES WILL WE PROVIDE?

NDIS offer a range of services to support participants in achieving their health and fitness goals. Some of the exercise physiology services that can be provided include:

  • Initial assessments: We evaluate NDIS participants’ current physical condition, functional capacity, and health status. These assessments help in designing personalised exercise programs.

  • Individualised exercise programs: Based on the assessment findings, Exercise Physiologists develop tailored exercise programs that address participants’ specific needs and goals. These programs may include a combination of cardiovascular exercises, strength training, flexibility exercises, balance and coordination activities, and functional movement training.

  • Exercise prescription and guidance: We prescribe exercises at an appropriate intensity, duration, and frequency to ensure safety and optimal results. They provide guidance on proper exercise techniques and monitor participants’ progress throughout the program.

  • Education and lifestyle advice: We offer education and advice on various aspects of health and well-being, including nutrition, injury prevention, pain management, and strategies to maintain an active lifestyle.

  • Monitoring and progress evaluation: We regularly monitor participants’ progress, make adjustments to the exercise programs as needed, and provide ongoing support and motivation to help participants stay on track.

WHAT WILL I NEED AT MY FIRST APPOINTMENT?

If you have any reports or information from your General Practitioner (GP), please bring them along as they will help us understand your needs. If you are an NDIS participant, we would also appreciate a copy of your NDIS Plan Goals so that we can assess which areas you need assistance in.

HOW MUCH DOES YOUR SERVICE COST?

All services that can be funded under the NDIS and are based on the NDIS Price Guide. The guide can be viewed on the NDIS website. Alternatively, send us an email to find out more.

NDIS REFERRAL

Referrals can be made by a treating professional, a family member, clients themselves or anyone involved in care. Referrals are taken over the phone 0431163724, or by email or by completing the online referral link below.

At Mymusclefix we specialize in DVA Therapy, providing veterans with the tailored care and support they need to enhance mobility and improve quality of life.

​

WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR DVA?

You may be able to receive our services under DVA Scheme if you have an assessed clinical need and a:

​

  • White cardholders are eligible to receive treatment for specific conditions or injuries caused by an accepted war or service.

  • Gold cardholders are eligible to receive treatment to meet their clinical needs for all their conditions. Also they can receive treatment if they are classed as totally or permanently incapacitated (TPI).

​

HOW TO ACCESS

Get a referral to Mymusclefix that will be covered by the Medicare Benefits Scheme (MBS) from your:

  • General practitioner (GP)

  • Medical specialist

  • Treating doctor in hospital

  • Hospital discharge planner

​

A referral is valid for up to 12 treatment sessions or one year, whichever ends first (except for TPI Gold Card). However, your referring practitioner will issue a new referral if it is required.

​

BENEFITS OF EXERCISE FOR DVA PARTICIPANTS

Our DVA Exercise Physiology plans are safe and will help you recover and become healthy again. Benefits include:

​

  • Overcome injury with effective rehabilitation

  • Improve your heart health and fitness status

  • Reduce obesity and manage weight

  • Improve chronic conditions

  • Control your diabetes and prevent pre-diabetes from progressing

  • Rehabilitate following a cardiac event or exercise for cancer

  • Improve mental health

We are also able to assist with:

  • Evaluation of an individual’s ability to perform work activities in regards to their employment.

  • Assistance in changing long-term habits such as eating and physical activity to help improve and maintain a healthier lifestyle.

  • Exercise recommendations pre and post-surgery

DO I NEED TO PAY FOR DVA THERAPY?

Absolutely not. We bill DVA directly, meaning there is no out of pocket expense to you.

​

HOW TO BOOK A DVA APPOINTMENT?

Simply call the clinic 0431163724 to schedule an appointment.

Please make sure you bring:

  • Your referral

  • Your DVA card

​

 

WORKCOVER

​

We require a few pieces of information before your appointment; you must have reported the incident to WorkCover and notified your GP. Once the claim has been placed through WorkCover, you will receive your claim number. This may take a few days, however, once the claim has been approved, you can see the appropriate allied health professional onsite.

 

We require the claim number and an up to date medical certificate before or at the time of your initial appointment also. 

The invoices from these treatments will go directly to WorkCover. However, if your claim has not been approved and you want to begin treatment as soon as possible, you can book in to see the appropriate allied health professional. This will mean however that you will be required to pay the full fee upfront, then claim this back from WorkCover if approved.
